Music Score offers a standalone browser player and an integration inside ChatGPT. They handle your music differently.
Who operates Music Score

Standalone browser player
When you open a file in the Music Score Player, the browser reads and processes it locally. The player does not upload that score to Music Score or ChatGPT. Music and playback settings stay in page memory and are cleared when the page is refreshed or closed. Exported files are saved to the download location you choose.
The website serves application files through AWS. Loading the website requires normal network request information to be processed by the hosting infrastructure. The player does not include analytics, advertising scripts, account sign-in or a score database.
Music Score inside ChatGPT
When you use Music Score inside ChatGPT, the host sends tool inputs to the Music Score service, including when you edit through the player. Inputs can include the complete score, title and creator metadata, notes, chords, edits, and the contents of supported MusicXML or MXL files. The player also shares the current score, selection and presentation preferences with ChatGPT for follow-up requests. Include only information needed for the musical task.
The service processes that data to validate, display, edit, transpose, import or export the score and returns the result to ChatGPT. Each request includes its own document; Music Score does not keep a server-side score library or conversation history. Request data is handled in memory, and the application does not intentionally write score contents or request bodies to operational logs.
ChatGPT handles your conversation, attachments and tool results under OpenAI’s privacy policy and your account settings. Clearing the Music Score player does not delete a ChatGPT conversation or attachment. Use ChatGPT’s own controls to manage those records.
Exporting inside ChatGPT can upload the generated PDF, MusicXML or JSON file to ChatGPT to obtain a host-managed download link. OpenAI handles that uploaded file and link. The player does not request persistent storage in ChatGPT’s file library.
Hosting and operational logs
The MCP service runs on AWS in the United States (us-east-1). Configured API access logs contain request identifiers, HTTP status, response size, response latency and a service label. They do not include score bodies, prompts, email addresses or client IP addresses. API execution logging and payload tracing are disabled. AWS runtime logs also contain execution and error information.
The current infrastructure configures CloudWatch log retention for 30 days in production and 7 days in the test environment. These records support availability, security, fault diagnosis and cost monitoring. Hosting providers still process network information needed to deliver the service; the limited access-log fields are not a promise that infrastructure processes no network metadata.
Support and privacy requests
If you contact support, include only the information you want the developer to receive. Please remove personal metadata and private music from examples where possible. A support request may contain your email address and the details you send. Contact: A working support address will be added before public launch.
You can ask about personal information processed by Music Score, or request access, correction or deletion where applicable. Music Score cannot delete information held by your ChatGPT account or files you have downloaded.
Before this policy becomes effective
The developer must confirm the final contact details, support-message handling and retention, applicable legal bases and rights, international-transfer arrangements and any required local publisher disclosures before launch. This draft describes the implementation and is not the final public policy.
